Visions from 1995
In a funny coincidence with my debut as Weltwoche’s tech columnist, an old friend and coworker, photographer Christian Helme, unearthed a picture from autumn 1995 showing myself with my Compag Contura Aero 4/33c (who said Netbooks are a novel invention??) and some Motorola mobile bone fake-wired to it, sitting at the lovely shore of Lake Thun. The picture was used to illustrate an article written by me about the first-ever Internet Access Point (POP) becoming available in the Thun region. I was obviously already craving for the mobile Internet back then at the very roots of my tech-journalistic career
